With only a week till the release of Overwatch 2, Blizzard has provided further details about what will be changing in the free-to-play sequel. Returning players will have access to all of the game's returning heroes.

The information was revealed in a new blog post, which goes into depth regarding the "first-time user experience" (FTUE) for Overwatch 2, which has long been expected.

New players must win 50 fast play matches before they can play competitive mode, and they must play about 100 matches to unlock all 32 heroes in Overwatch.

Chat and other game types will be accessible "rapidly" during the early onboarding phases. "This targeted experience helps new players ease into the world of Overwatch by educating them about the numerous game modes, rules, and other high-level components," Blizzard noted.

Most quick-play games last between 10 and 15 minutes. That's roughly 20 hours if you don't add the time you have to wait in line to acquire Tracer, Genji, and the rest of the gang. The original Overwatch costs $60.
