According to the National Highway  Traffic Safety Administration, Tesla is  recalling over a million vehicles owing  to flaws in their automatic windows  that might endanger occupants.

Model Y SUVs will be available in 2020  and 2021, Model S vehicles will be  available in 2021 and 2022, and  Model X sedans will be available in  2021 and 2022.

Model 3 vehicles from 2017 to  2022 are also included by the recall.

Due of software flaws, the  vehicles' power windows do not  respond to obstructions.

The National Highway Traffic  Safety Administration warns that "a closing window may use excessive  force by squeezing a motorist or  passenger before withdrawing,  increasing the danger of damage."

As a result, the windows do not  comply with federal vehicle safety  rules for power-operated windows,  according to the NHTSA.

According to the NHTSA, Tesla  will issue a software update to recalled  vehicles to correct the  window-reversal mechanism.
